Created in 2012, One, Two, Three...RAP! is a non-profit organization based in Paris, France, promoting English language learning and Youth Empowerment through the study of Hip Hop culture. The association was founded by a close-knit group of international students from France's top universities who all shared an interest in the following areas :
Changing structural difficulties in English language learning in France
Bringing positive change in innovating educational methods and Youth Empowerment
Promoting Youth Development and Engagement
One, Two, Three...RAP! Method :
One, Two, Three…RAP! has been hosting weekly workshops for the past four years in five different locations spread out across Paris and its suburbs, to an age group that ranges from 8 to 45 years old.
Moving away from traditional teaching methods, One, Two, Three…RAP! developed its own unique approach that provides a safe sphere within which to develop skills.
In line with Hip Hop Based Education (HHBE), the program promotes both Hip Hop’s philosophy (peace, love, unity and having fun) and its pillars (dancing, MC-ing, knowledge, grafiti, and rap).
In order to develop as much skills as possible, One, Two, Three...RAP! pedagogical committee composed of Hip Hop educators, certified teachers and professional rappers have come up with a designed program each school year that covers different themes to which our participants can relate to :
